Day 1: Zanzibar – Arusha – Tarangire National Park
Your Tanzania safari begins with a morning flight from Zanzibar to Arusha, arriving at approximately 12:30 PM. Upon arrival at Arusha Airport, you will be met by a Breath of Savanna Safaris professional safari guide, who will brief you on the journey ahead before departing for Tarangire National Park.
The drive to Tarangire takes approximately three hours, offering an opportunity to enjoy the changing scenery as you travel from the bustling surroundings of Arusha into the beautiful landscapes of northern Tanzania.
After entering Tarangire National Park, your safari adventure begins with an afternoon game drive. Known for its spectacular scenery, ancient baobab trees and abundant wildlife, Tarangire is particularly famous for its large herds of elephants.
The Tarangire River is one of the park’s most important water sources, attracting wildlife throughout the year and especially during the dry season. As you explore the park’s open grasslands, seasonal swamps and woodland areas, keep watch for elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, impalas, buffalo and a variety of other wildlife.
With a little luck, you may also encounter some of Tarangire’s predators, including lions and leopards. The park is also home to several less commonly seen species, making every game drive an exciting opportunity for discovery.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, surrounded by the remarkable scenery of Tarangire, before continuing your afternoon game drive. Your guide will use their local knowledge and experience to help you discover the best wildlife viewing opportunities while sharing fascinating insights into the park and its inhabitants.
As the afternoon comes to an end, you will leave the park and continue to your lodge or camp for dinner and a relaxing evening in the heart of Tanzania’s safari country.
Dinner and Overnight at your preferred Lodge/Camp on Full Board Basis.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park– Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, check out and enjoy a morning game drive in Tarangire, taking advantage of the cooler hours when wildlife is particularly active.
Continue exploring the park as you search for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes and predators. Your professional driver-guide will help you discover the park’s hidden wildlife and explain the ecology of this fascinating ecosystem.
After the game drive, depart Tarangire and drive towards Lake Manyara National Park.
The journey takes approximately three hours and passes through rural communities, traditional Maasai settlements and the beautiful landscapes of northern Tanzania.
Upon arrival in the Lake Manyara area, you will proceed to your lodge/camp for lunch and some time to relax after the morning journey. Take the opportunity to settle in, refresh and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before heading out for your afternoon safari.
Later in the afternoon, you will set out for a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, a compact but remarkably diverse wildlife destination. The park features lush groundwater forests, open grasslands, acacia woodlands and the scenic shores of Lake Manyara, creating a variety of habitats for wildlife.
During the game drive, keep watch for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and numerous antelope species. Lake Manyara is also known for its occasional sightings of tree-climbing lions, which may be found resting in the branches of acacia trees.
The park is equally rewarding for bird enthusiasts, with a wide variety of resident and migratory species. Depending on the season and water levels, you may see colourful birds such as the lilac-breasted roller, birds of prey and flocks of flamingos around the lake.
As the afternoon comes to an end, you will leave the park and return to your lodge/camp for dinner and a relaxing evening, surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of northern Tanzania.
Dinner and Overnight at your preferred Lodge/Camp on Full Board Basis.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park– Lake Eyasi – Hadzabe Cultural Experience
After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge/camp and depart the Lake Manyara area with your professional safari guide, travelling towards the remote and culturally fascinating region of Lake Eyasi. The drive takes approximately 2.5–3 hours, taking you through rural landscapes, small communities and traditional villages as you leave the main safari circuit behind.
Upon arrival in the Lake Eyasi area, you will meet local community members and begin a fascinating Hadzabe cultural experience. The Hadzabe are one of Tanzania’s indigenous communities and have maintained a traditional hunter-gatherer way of life closely connected to the surrounding environment.
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to learn about their traditional lifestyle, customs and relationship with nature. Lunch will be enjoyed in the Lake Eyasi area, after which you will continue with your cultural experience and explore the surrounding landscape.
Later in the afternoon, you will proceed to your lodge or camp for check-in and some time to relax. Enjoy dinner and a peaceful evening in this remote part of northern Tanzania, surrounded by the natural beauty and quiet atmosphere of the Lake Eyasi region.
