Day 1: Diani Beach – Tsavo East National Park

EARLY MORNING PICK-UP & DEPARTURE
Your exciting safari adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your beach hotel in Diani Beach. After meeting your professional driver-guide, you will depart for the legendary Tsavo East National Park, one of Kenya’s oldest and largest national parks, renowned for its vast open plains, iconic red elephants, and exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities. The drive takes approximately 4 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
SCENIC JOURNEY TO THE WILDERNESS
Enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful Kenyan countryside as you leave the coast behind and head towards the wilderness. Upon arrival at the park, your safari experience begins immediately with an en-route game drive as you make your way to your respective camp/lodge. Keep your camera ready as you search for elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, antelopes, and a remarkable variety of birdlife.
ARRIVAL & LUNCH
Arrive at your respective camp/lodge in time for a delicious lunch, followed by an opportunity to relax and take in the tranquil surroundings of the African bush.
AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE
Later in the afternoon, set out on an exciting game drive across the park’s expansive savannahs in search of more incredible wildlife. Depending on time and your lodge/camp location, you may visit the famous Aruba Dam, a permanent water source that attracts a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, and numerous bird species, making it one of the park’s premier game-viewing locations.
GOLDEN AFRICAN SUNSET
As the golden African sunset casts its warm glow across the plains, continue your game drive before returning to your respective camp/lodge for a relaxing evening.

The early morning hours offer one last opportunity to experience the magic of Tsavo East National Park as wildlife is most active. Keep your camera ready for memorable sightings of elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and, with a bit of luck, lions, leopards, or cheetahs against the backdrop of the park’s spectacular landscapes.
BREAKFAST & CHECK-OUT
Return to your respective camp/lodge for a hearty breakfast before checking out and beginning your journey back to the pristine white sandy beaches of Diani Beach. The drive takes approximately 4 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions.
FINAL EN-ROUTE GAME DRIVE
As you exit the park, enjoy a final en-route game drive, giving you one last chance to admire Tsavo East’s breathtaking scenery of rolling hills, volcanic outcrops, acacia woodlands, and abundant wildlife. Your professional driver-guide will continue searching for wildlife while sharing fascinating insights into the park’s unique ecosystem and the animals that call it home.
SCENIC DRIVE BACK TO DIANI BEACH
Continue your scenic drive through the Kenyan countryside, passing local towns and picturesque landscapes as you make your way back to the coast. Arrive in Diani Beach in the late afternoon, where you will be dropped off at your beach resort or your preferred location.
