Day 1: Entebbe– Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls National Park

· 07:00 AM – Your adventure begins with a morning departure from your accommodation, accompanied by your professional Breath of Savanna Safaris and Events driver-guide. We will journey northwards towards Murchison Falls National Park, enjoying the changing landscapes and beautiful countryside along the way.

· The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours, with a memorable stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here, you will enjoy an approximately 1–2 hour guided rhino tracking experience, accompanied by a trained ranger. This unique conservation experience offers the opportunity to observe Uganda’s magnificent rhinos in their natural environment while learning more about the sanctuary’s important work in protecting and restoring the country’s rhino population.

· After the rhino experience, we will continue to Masindi, where we will stop for lunch and take some time to relax before proceeding towards Murchison Falls National Park.

· Upon entering the park, we will make our way to the spectacular Top of Murchison Falls. Here, the mighty Victoria Nile is forced through a narrow gorge before plunging through the rocks with incredible power. The sound of rushing water, mist rising from the gorge and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape create an unforgettable introduction to Uganda’s largest national park.

· After exploring the falls and taking time for photographs, we will continue to your lodge or camp. Depending on the time of arrival and park conditions, you may enjoy wildlife sightings along the way as we travel through the park.

Your guide will help you identify the different animals, understand their behaviour and make the most of every wildlife encounter.

· During the morning game drive, we will pause at a scenic location for a memorable bush breakfast, allowing you to enjoy your meal surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 4: Fort Portal – Kibale Forest National Park

· After an early breakfast at around 7:00 AM, we will drive to the Kibale Forest National Park trekking centre for a briefing by the park ranger-guides. Kibale is renowned for its exceptional primate diversity and is widely regarded as one of the best places in Africa for encountering chimpanzees in their natural forest habitat.

· Following the briefing, we will begin our chimpanzee trekking experience. Accompanied by experienced ranger-guides, you will enter the lush tropical forest in search of one of Kibale’s habituated chimpanzee communities.

· As we make our way through the forest, keep your eyes and ears open for other primates, colourful birds and signs of forest wildlife. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will have the opportunity to observe their natural behaviour as they move through the forest, communicate with one another and interact within their social groups.

· The trek generally takes around 2–4 hours, depending on the location and movements of the chimpanzees. Your ranger-guide will share fascinating information about their behaviour, ecology and the importance of conserving this remarkable forest ecosystem.

· After the trek, we will return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax.

· In the afternoon, we will visit the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, a community-managed conservation area located near Kibale Forest. A guided nature walk through the wetlands offers another opportunity to experience Uganda’s remarkable biodiversity at a slower and more intimate pace.

· The sanctuary is particularly popular with bird enthusiasts, with more than 200 bird species recorded in the area, including the striking Great Blue Turaco. The wetlands are also home to several primate species, including black-and-white colobus monkeys and red-tailed monkeys, together with butterflies, reptiles and other smaller creatures.

· As you explore the sanctuary, your local guide will also introduce you to the community’s conservation initiatives and explain how tourism contributes to protecting the wetlands and supporting the surrounding communities.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi – Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi

· Today is the highlight of your Uganda safari—an unforgettable encounter with the magnificent mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

· After an early breakfast, prepare your packed lunch and meet your safari driver-guide for the transfer to the park’s ranger station. Here, you will receive a detailed briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) team on the gorilla trekking guidelines, safety precautions and responsible behavior while in the forest. You will also be assigned to a gorilla trekking group.

· The trek begins at approximately 8:00 AM, accompanied by experienced park ranger-guides and fellow trekkers. The journey through Bwindi’s ancient rainforest can be physically demanding, with steep slopes, dense vegetation and, depending on the conditions, muddy and slippery trails. However, every step is rewarded by the anticipation of finding one of the forest’s remarkable gorilla families.

· The duration of the trek is unpredictable and can take approximately 3 to 8 hours or more, depending on the location and movements of the gorillas. Once your assigned gorilla family is located, you will have up to one hour to quietly observe these incredible primates in their natural habitat. Watching them interact, feed, groom and care for one another at such close range is a truly extraordinary experience that you will remember for a lifetime.

· After completing your trek, return to the ranger station where you will receive your gorilla trekking certificate, a special keepsake commemorating this remarkable wildlife encounter.

· You will then rejoin your safari vehicle and continue to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most beautiful highland destinations.
