Day 1: Entebbe– Queen Elizabeth National Park

· Your Ugandan safari begins with a warm welcome from Breath of Savanna Safaris. You will be picked up from your hotel or Entebbe International Airport, provided your flight arrives by 10:00 AM. Your professional, English-speaking safari driver-guide will meet you, assist with your luggage, give you a short safari briefing, and introduce you to the exciting journey ahead.

· We will then depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. The journey takes you through the scenic countryside of western Uganda, with beautiful landscapes and rural communities along the way.

· Queen Elizabeth National Park is renowned for its remarkable diversity of habitats, ranging from open savannah and woodland to wetlands and lakeshores. The park supports an impressive variety of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, hippos and several antelope species, as well as numerous primates. It is also a spectacular birding destination, with more than 600 bird species recorded within the park.

· We will stop along the way for lunch, before continuing towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. As we approach the park, the scenery becomes increasingly wild and scenic, building anticipation for the wildlife experiences ahead.

· Arrive in the park in the late afternoon or early evening and proceed to your accommodation for check-in. Depending on your arrival time and the remaining daylight, you may have the opportunity to embark on an optional late-afternoon game drive, offering your first chance to spot wildlife in their natural habitat as the day begins to cool.

· If there is not enough time for a game drive, simply settle into your accommodation, relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the park as you prepare for the exciting safari activities planned for the following day.

· Dinner and Overnight at your preferred Lodge/Camp on Full Board Basis

Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Safari

· Rise early and enjoy breakfast at your lodge before setting out for an exciting morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains, one of the most renowned wildlife areas within Queen Elizabeth National Park.

· The open savannah plains provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, especially during the cooler morning hours when animals are most active. With your experienced safari guide, keep watch for lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, antelopes and other wildlife moving across the plains. With some luck, you may also encounter the elusive leopard resting in the grasslands or moving through the surrounding vegetation.

· After an exciting morning exploring the park, return to your lodge for some time to relax and enjoy lunch.

· In the afternoon, head out for one of Queen Elizabeth National Park’s most memorable experiences—a two-hour boat safari along the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway connects Lake George and Lake Edward and is famous for its remarkable concentration of wildlife along the shores.

· As you cruise gently along the channel, you will have wonderful opportunities to observe large pods of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants and buffaloes coming to the water to drink and cool off. The channel is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with numerous water and woodland species often seen along the shoreline, including the striking African skimmer.

· The relaxed pace of the boat allows you to enjoy the wildlife from a unique perspective while capturing beautiful photographs of the animals and surrounding landscapes.

· After the cruise, return to your lodge, freshen up and spend the remainder of the evening at leisure. Relax by the lodge, enjoy its facilities and reflect on an unforgettable day of wildlife exploration in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

· Dinner and Overnight at your preferred Lodge/Camp on Full Board Basis

Day 3: Kasenyi Plains – Isasha Sector - Bwindi

· After an early breakfast, we set out for another rewarding morning game drive across the Kasenyi Plains. The early hours offer excellent wildlife-viewing opportunities as the savannah comes alive.

· With your experienced safari guide, keep a keen eye out for Cape buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, antelopes and lions. Leopards may also be encountered, although these elusive cats are naturally more difficult to spot. Every game drive is different, and the excitement lies in never knowing what may appear around the next bend.

· We will then continue towards the Ishasha Sector, located in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park and renowned for its famous tree-climbing lions. Seeing these magnificent cats resting high in the branches of large fig or acacia trees is one of Uganda’s most unique wildlife experiences.

· While sightings cannot be guaranteed, your guide will carefully search the area for these iconic lions. If you are fortunate enough to find them resting in the trees, you will have an incredible opportunity to observe and photograph them from a unique perspective. Ishasha is also home to plenty of other wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, topis, Uganda kobs and various antelope species.

· After exploring Ishasha, we will leave the park and continue towards your accommodation near Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey takes you through some of southwestern Uganda’s beautiful landscapes, gradually bringing you closer to the rainforest and the mountain gorilla habitat.

· Upon arrival, check in and enjoy a relaxed evening at your lodge. With the physically demanding gorilla trekking experience awaiting you the following morning, the remainder of the day is intentionally kept free for rest and preparation.

· Take some time to unwind, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and prepare for one of the most extraordinary wildlife encounters of your lifetime.

· Dinner and Overnight at your preferred Lodge/Camp on Full Board Basis.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi – Transfer To Lake Bunyonyi

· Today is the highlight of your Uganda safari—an unforgettable encounter with the magnificent mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

· After an early breakfast, prepare your packed lunch and meet your safari driver-guide for the transfer to the park’s ranger station. Here, you will receive a detailed briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) team on the gorilla trekking guidelines, safety precautions and responsible behaviour while in the forest. You will also be assigned to a gorilla trekking group.

· The trek begins at approximately 8:00 AM, accompanied by experienced park ranger-guides and fellow trekkers. The journey through Bwindi’s ancient rainforest can be physically demanding, with steep slopes, dense vegetation and, depending on the conditions, muddy and slippery trails. However, every step is rewarded by the anticipation of finding one of the forest’s remarkable gorilla families.

· The duration of the trek is unpredictable and can take approximately 3 to 8 hours or more, depending on the location and movements of the gorillas. Once your assigned gorilla family is located, you will have up to one hour to quietly observe these incredible primates in their natural habitat. Watching them interact, feed, groom and care for one another at such close range is a truly extraordinary experience that you will remember for a lifetime.

· After completing your trek, return to the ranger station where you will receive your gorilla trekking certificate, a special keepsake commemorating this remarkable wildlife encounter.

· You will then rejoin your safari vehicle and continue to Lake Bunyonyi, one of Uganda’s most beautiful highland destinations. Surrounded by lush, terraced hillsides rising to approximately 2,200–2,478 metres above sea level, the lake is renowned for its tranquil waters and 29 picturesque islands, each with its own shape, character and story.

· Arrive at your accommodation, check in and unwind as you take in the spectacular scenery and peaceful atmosphere of Lake Bunyonyi.

· Dinner and Overnight at your preferred Lodge/Camp on Full Board Basis.

Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi – Entebbe

· Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your lodge/camp while taking in the breathtaking views across the tranquil waters of Lake Bunyonyi, with its lush green hills and beautiful islands creating the perfect setting for your final morning in southwestern Uganda.

· If your international flight is scheduled for later in the evening, you may choose to make the most of your time at Lake Bunyonyi with an optional canoe excursion at an additional cost. Paddle gently across the calm waters, admire the surrounding terraced hills and islands, and experience the peaceful beauty of one of Uganda’s most scenic lakes before beginning your journey back to Entebbe.

· After breakfast and any optional activity, check out and meet your safari driver-guide for the scenic drive back to Entebbe. The journey offers a final opportunity to enjoy Uganda’s beautiful countryside as you make your way towards the airport.

· Depending on your flight schedule and road conditions, you will arrive in Entebbe in the late afternoon or evening, allowing sufficient time for your onward flight.

· As your Ugandan adventure comes to an end, we sincerely thank you for choosing Breath of Savanna Safaris. We hope you leave Uganda with unforgettable memories of its incredible wildlife, breathtaking landscapes and, most importantly, your extraordinary encounter with the mountain gorillas.
