Samburu is an arid yet beautiful reserve along the Ewaso Nyiro River, famed for its unique northern species such as the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, and Beisa oryx—known as the “Samburu Special Five.” The reserve also offers rich cultural encounters with the Samburu people.
Samburu is about 350 km north of Nairobi, accessible by road (6–7 hours) or by air (1 hour) to Samburu Airstrip.
